  • Default setup: +1 to default rear wing.
  • BoP adjustments: +10kg weight penalty, -1% engine power.
  • Adjusted drivetrain inertia (resulting in slightly less engine power on the wheels).
  • Default setup: brake bias F54.2%, differential preload 120Nm.
  • Tweaks to inertia and center of gravity.
  • Increased maximum packer stack to 40mm.
  • Fixed damper travel to bump stops (15mm more on front and 11mm on rear).
  • Adjusted aero drag, about 0.5% forward aero balance shift.
  • Adjusted drivetrain losses (resulting in more engine power on the wheels).
  • Default setup: P4 rear wing, +1 to front and rear ARB, +0.352deg to rear toe in, +2 to TC, +14 to differential preload, -0.5deg to rear camber, +1 to rear springs.
  • New values for draft lifts (FW, RW and diffuser).
  • Adjusted total inertia, tweaks to default setup to make the car more stable.

  • Adjusted drivetrain losses (resulting in slightly more engine power on the wheels).
  • Reduced slipstreaming effects on drag (lower speed gain when drafting).
  • Tweaks to diffuser stalling parameters (the car is less snappy now, when bottoming out).
  • Modifications to yaw aero response (affects sliding sideways).

The full changelog up of updates is available on the rFactor 2 website or you can read on below: February 2021 rFactor 2 GT3 Balance of Performance (BoP) Update Notes These aero updates also affect how fast “exaggerated” sliding is – this will make the car more stable and smoother to drive. There have been some aerodynamic effect changes that should ultimately make the car lose less grip when following a competitor. The developers have also inspected and addressed various other parts of the cars. The previous season had a little bit of a Callaway Corvette C7 vibe to it with almost all of the competitors favouring the American muscle because of it’s generous BoP.

The updates come as rFactor 2 prepares for the new season of their popular GT Pro series, due to start on 8th March 2021. Fingers crossed that it leads to great racing ahead of Season 3 of the GT Pro Series on rFactor 2!

The simulation’s engineers inspect physics data, telemetry and feedback from their team of test drivers to get it just right. Studio 397 has taken a thorough approach to the new season’s BoP. The important part is making sure they balance out to make it fair for everyone in a race. Some cars may handle better, others are faster in a straight line or even have better fuel or tyre economy. However, in our humble opinion, regulated BoP can aid racing by offering varied car shapes and characteristics. It’s often said that spec-series racing, where all of the drivers use the same cars, produces the best racing because everyone has equal opportunity. The collection of GT3 spec cars now spans 13 unique cars (okay, in fairness, there are two Bentley Continentals), which is an incredibly impressive list but keeping the balance of each car in shape is quite the challenge.īalance of Performance is important for competitive racing in sportscars. Developers of the rFactor 2 simulation, Studio 397, have today revealed a new balance of performance (BoP) for their GT3 roster.
